Veridia 2.11.0 - Sailing, Prestige Mastery, Civitas illa Fortis, and More

Veridia 2.11.0 is our biggest update yet. It kicks off three features that will keep growing: Sailing, Prestige Mastery and Varlamore. Alongside them, Adventure Paths give new players a guided start, you can create an account straight from the launcher, and our Discord bot is live.

Sailing Part One

Sailing is now the 24th skill. We've implemented the basics for sailing so far - and will continue to update the skill to OSRS parity. Every account starts at level 1, and it counts towards your total level.

Getting started: use any dock's gangplank to get a free starter raft. You can sail to all 61 ports, but each needs a Sailing level to dock. Port Sarim and the Pandemonium need level 1.
Boats: buy a raft (1,000 coins) or a skiff (15,000 coins, 15 Sailing) from any port shipwright. Boat slots unlock at Sailing 1, 15, 50, 78 and 91.
Shipyard: use Customise-boat on a shipwright to build cargo holds, salvaging hooks, a range, and better hulls, sails, helms and keels. There's a bank chest beside the portal.
Training: trim your sails when the wind gusts, chart points of interest, sealed crates, currents, dives and weather spots across the seas, and salvage shipwrecks in all 29 salvaging areas. Salvaging succeeds three times as often as in OSRS for now. Sort your salvage at a salvaging station for loot and extra experience.
Dangers: storms, reefs and other hazardous seas damage your boat. At 0 hitpoints it capsizes and you wash up on the dock with all your items, so it's safe for Hardcore Ironmen. Shipwright Seb repairs boats, or you can make repair kits at the Shipwrights' Workbench.
Lost schematics: each of the ten island lockboxes points you to its key. Dig up the key and open the box to unlock rosewood and dragon boat parts.
Materials: mine lead and nickel, cut camphor, ironwood and rosewood, and craft everything from yarn and bolts of cloth to keel parts and new planks. The Tools Store at home now sells flax, hemp, cotton bolls, nails and dragon metal sheets, and utility supply boxes can give planks, nails, swamp tar and rope.
Sailing cape: 99,000 coins from Brass Hand Harry on the Pandemonium, or from the home skillcape shop.

The world map follows your boat as you sail. Sailing can't be prestiged yet.

Prestige Mastery Part One: Melee Mastery

Mastery is the next goal once your melee prestige is maxed: 22 solo melee challenges against Veridia's toughest bosses, each paying Prestige Points.

Requirements: Attack and Strength must both meet your mode's requirement.

Normal: Prestige 10 with at least 104,000,000 experience.
Realism: Prestige 10 with at least 50,000,000 experience.
Extreme: Prestige 10 at level 99.

Tasks cover Vorkath, Cerberus, General Graardor, K'ril Tsutsaroth, Araxxor, the Abyssal Sire, Skotizo, Phosani's Nightmare, the Corporeal Beast, Nex, the Gauntlet and Hard Mode Theatre of Blood, across three tiers:

Initiate (500 points each): such as Pointy-End Veteran (50 melee-only Vorkath kills) and Gauntlet Initiate (10 Gauntlets with a crystal halberd as your only melee weapon).
Adept (1,500 points each): such as Dragonfire Discipline (25 Vorkath kills in a row with no special attacks) and Three Schools of Steel (stab-only Vorkath, slash-only K'ril and crush-only Phosani).
Master (3,000 points each): such as Corrupted Blademaster (25 Corrupted Gauntlets with only a corrupted halberd), Theatre's Champion (25 solo Hard Mode Theatre of Blood raids) and Dragon Slayer Supreme (300 stab-only Vorkath kills).
Completion bonus: 5,000 more points for finishing every task.

New rewards in the Prestige Relic Shop:

Infinite overload (75,000 points): never runs out. Each drink gives an overload's boost for 5 minutes without the damage. It can't be used in the Wilderness.
Infinite prayer potion: now 45,000 points, down from 75,000, with a new look.

Open Mastery from the Prestige Master. The Rules page shows what counts and your progress on each goal. Every task must be done solo, and only fights from now on count.

Varlamore Part One: Civitas illa Fortis

The city of Civitas illa Fortis is now open.

The city, its docks and the farmland to the west are full of townsfolk, guards, merchants and animals, placed as they are in OSRS, and its shops are open.
Get there with the Civitas illa Fortis Teleport (standard spellbook, level 54), the teleport menu or a tablet, or fly with Regulus Cento from Varrock's east gate.
Pickpocket wealthy citizens (50 Thieving) for coins, house keys and easy clues.
Stealing valuables from empty houses is playable but still a work in progress, so it isn't yet 1:1 with OSRS.

Adventure Paths and the Veridia Guide

Eight short paths each show you one of Veridia's own systems. New players get the camera tour of Home first (you can skip it), then Welcome Home starts. The others unlock as you go: Skiller's Contract, The Hunt and Veridia Together after Welcome Home, First Prestige at your first 99, and Perks, Relics and Champion after your first prestige.

Every task pays a small reward, and every finished path has a reward to claim.
Finish all eight for a Starter Relic Box and pick Scholar's Spark (+25% XP), Hunter's Edge (+10% drop rate) or Gatherer's Hand (a chance to bank resources as you gather).
Claim Champion's reward for the Pathfinder title.
Existing accounts get the paths too, and anything you've already done counts straight away.
New accounts now get their 25,000 starting coins from Welcome Home's chest.
Open your paths with ::paths, the Veridia Guidebook or the Veridia Guide.

The new Veridia Guide screen (::guide) explains Veridia's systems in short pages. Show me points an arrow at the NPC you need, and Open path takes you to the matching Adventure Path.

Create an account from the launcher

New players no longer need to visit the website first.

Press Create Account in the launcher, choose a username and password, and pass a quick security check.
Press Play and the client opens with your new username already filled in.
The client's New User button now opens our sign-up page instead of Jagex's.
Signing up on the website now uses the same security check to keep bots out.

Discord bot

Our Discord bot is now live in the Veridia Discord.

Announcements: level 99s, maxed accounts, 200m experience, Hardcore Ironman deaths, world boosts and vote milestones.
Drops channel: rare drops, pets and clue rewards, plus collection log completions and super rare drops. Duplicate pets aren't posted.
Link your account: while logged in, type /link and your username in Discord, then confirm in game.

Prestige changes

Wayfarer relic: free in the Prestige Relic Shop. It doubles your run energy restore outside the Wilderness.
Prestige vouchers now need the skill at 99 and ask you to confirm before use. They also work on Realism and Extreme accounts, so your first prestige is free in every mode.
Slayer prestige now also lowers Summona's combat requirement. At Slayer prestige 10 she needs combat 85 on Normal, 80 on Realism and 75 on Extreme.
Perks: remnant point unlocks are now called perks everywhere, to match the Perk Master.

Economy changes

Votes now give 200,000 coins (400,000 with an authenticator), up from 75,000, plus 25 Prestige Points.
The Well of Goodwill now pays 150,000 to 300,000 coins per old coin, down from 500,000 to 1,000,000. Artisan finds pay the same as before.
Crystal chests now always give 12,500 to 37,500 coins (18,750 to 56,250 with an enhanced key). The Elven crystal chest opens with a crystal key again.

Other changes

Tumeken's shadow now multiplies the Completionist cape's magic damage bonus, and its +100% cap is gone. Best-in-slot gear with a tier 3 Completionist cape goes from +116% to +186%.
Opening a Mimic casket now asks whether to fight it, open it without a fight, or keep it for later. Fighting takes you straight to the arena and back again, and a kept casket can be banked.
Added ::remnants to check your remnant points.
Some Veridia items, such as store packs, bonds and Old coins, have moved to make room for Sailing items. Anything you own, including in your bank, Grand Exchange offers and Group Ironman storage, is updated for you.

Fixes

Zulrah no longer attacks after it dies.
Protect from Melee now blocks four fifths of Nex's melee hits, as in OSRS. Spectral spirit shields, gas masks and facemasks now help against her cough.
Dying to Nex's reflected melee damage no longer leaves you stuck at 0 hitpoints.
Monster attacks with an effect, such as drains, heals, poison and venom, no longer apply it twice.
Araxxor's attacks now check your prayer when they land, not when they're launched, and its corpse loot follows your bank and pickup drop settings.
The hit that ends one of Yama's phases now deals damage.
Doom of Mokhaiotl's acid blood spray no longer cancels weapon and special attack effects at delve 3 and deeper.
Zalcano's MVP reward now goes to the player who dealt the most damage.
The Thermonuclear Smoke Devil drops the occult necklace at 1/233 and the smoke battlestaff at 1/341 again.
Larran's chests no longer give loot without using a key or get stuck open, and every big chest has the same rare chances on Unlock as on Unlock-50.
Dark totem pieces drop again from big Catacombs monsters while you wear a purple slayer helmet.
Setting Private chat to Friends or Off now stays that way.
Slayer masters now tell you which requirement you're missing.
Options in a worn item's right-click submenu work again.
The Ice partyhat, Ice santa hat, Ice halloween mask and Anubis set show the right model again.
::barrows teleports to Barrows again.
The noticeboard's Wilderness player count no longer drops to 0.
Bottomless compost buckets no longer gain more uses than the compost you add.
The Beta Artisan Relic now works.
